ECA responds to CITB and ECITB proposed merger consultation

Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) has responded to the consultation on the proposed merger between the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB), which will create one unified Industry Training Board (ITB).

While ECA supports the notion of wider collaboration across the sector, the association doesn’t believe that expanding the scope of the ITBs to encompass Building Service occupations would be in the best interest of its Members or the wider sector. 

ECA has supported Members to provide their own responses to this proposal and would oppose any efforts to bring electrical occupations under the ITB scope.
