DPC: BS 7430 Protective earthing of electrical installations – Code of practice

The British Standards Institution (BSI) has published a draft for public comment (DPC) on BS 7430 Protective earthing of electrical installations – Code of practice.

BS 7430 provides recommendations for earthing of electrical installations, including:

• Protective earthing of low voltage (LV) installations to BS 7671

• The interface between LV and high voltage (HV) substations conforming to BS EN IEC 61936-1:2021 within buildings

• Protective earthing arrangements for generators running in parallel with a distribution network operator (DNO) or a private HV/LV transformer supplying low voltage installations

• Protective earthing and changeover switch arrangements for UPS and generators supplying low voltage installations

All comments must be submitted to BSI by 10th September 2025.
